Awareness grows

Hey! This is post number 400! Think I should do something special to celebrate? Maybe go out for dinner? Have a bottle of bubbly tonight?

Maybe I should just write a good, hopeful post.

I had a one hour interview yesterday with a writer from a major Christian newspaper. One of my recent Living Room updates that I sent to facilitators and facilitators-to-be had filtered down to this paper. They were impressed enough to decide to publish a feature article about mental illness and the church. The Living Room story should occupy a good part of that piece. Yes!!! Living Room is doing its stuff, some of the stuff I was hopeful it would do, helping churches realize they can, and need to, help people with mental illness.

I, together with a couple of others, am working on updating the manuals. That will be followed by an updating of the website. Both these things will have to be done quickly now so that all is done by the time the article comes out in early October.

I've been holding back writing about Living Room, waiting for this updating to be done. Don't want to send people to the website until it's where it should be. It would be wasted energy to send them there at this point. All my publicity will have to wait for a wee time.

And, by the way, the problem with my friend I wrote about in my last post is getting ironed out, thank God. I don't like upsetting people. And I don't like losing friends. Peace and harmony is far better.

Marja,

Praise God that this is your 400th post! You sure have written a lot! I have been so blessed by your writings and sharing, and I am sure many others too. Thank God for the good work you are doing in Living Room and on this blog. May God continue to give you much grace, strength and joy to serve Him in these wonderful ways. I know it gives you much meaning in your life and draws you to another region where you are constantly "moving into God's presence".

I am sorry to read about your difficult experience with your friend. It is always heart breaking to go through such an experience. I thank God that it is being ironed out. I pray with you that she may find peace with herself, with others, and with God. Hope she can be reconciled to you very soon and she will appreciate your love in speaking to her.

May God continue to shower His love and kindness upon you daily, and make you a blessing to many others. May He continue to use Living Room for His glory too. Take care.

Remembering you and Living Room
in prayers,
Nancie

Thank you so much, Nancie. You are a wonderful friend, always full of encouraging words for me, always praying. Thank you for thinking of me and Living Room. Wish you could come to a meeting one day. Wouldn't that be neat?

At tomorrow's meeting we're going to talk about treasures. I think what you treasure is probably very similar to what I do. We have a lot in commong. At the meeting we will compare notes. I'm looking forward to it.

Love and prayers,
marja
